Energy Services
Energy Services provides heating, cooling, and electricity to the University and operates all
controls and systems within buildings. The major area of Energy Services include:
- Chilled Water Systems operates large
central chiller plants that provide cold water to cool buildings and
equipment across campus. This group also maintains the underground
piping to distribute the chilled water.
- Cogeneration Systems generates
electricity for use on campus and, as a by-product provides all steam
used on campus. Cogeneration also maintains the steam distribution
system.
- Electric Distribution Systems maintains and operates
all out-of-building electricity, including the sub-stations,
the between-building cabling, and the outside light systems.
