UNC-CH operates its own storm water system under the EPA's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II Program. This system is comprised of thousands of catch basins and inlets, miles of piping, dozens of structural best management practices (BMPs), and outfalls that discharge storm water into nearby creeks. Energy Services Storm Water Systems is responsible for the oversight and management of the UNC storm water system infrastructure and master planning.
